Job Description

Broward House, Inc. is a not for profit  social service agency serving Broward County with multiple programs for individual infected and affected by HIV, homelessness, substance abuse and mental health issues. 

We are looking for a individual with Social Media, Writing and Client engagement experience to work in our programs targeting the LGBTQ community and minorities highly impacted by HIV.   The candidate will have a strong comfort level working with the target population as well as providing community outreach, individual intervention, group facilitation, with strong written communication skills.  Hours will vary, including weekend, evenings, and some late nights at location with high traffic of target population.

This position is primarily responsible for:

  • Engage, train and support peer advocates for retention
  • Contribute to the development of evidenced based client based story telling
  • Design, and monitor social media outreach efforts targeting high-risk populations
  • Maintain tracking of programmatic social medial outreach contacts and outcomes;
  • Develop tools for target audience input regarding motivation for engagement and retention in programs
  • Develop and Participate in retention strategies with high risk population to support interventions and deliverables
  • Promotes program refinement, understands client/public need and effectively participates in all assigned meetings

  • Skills/ Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or Health Sciences required. Masters preferred with emphasis Communication.
  • A minimum of 2 year experience working in HIV/AIDS services field preferred or other marginalized communities
  • Experience in professional social media activities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Solution focused approach to conflict and challenges
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, collaborating agencies and the public
  • Ability to demonstrate and model culturally competent behavior
  • Advanced Computer Skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
