Job Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of building systems and equipment under the supervision of the Facilities Director. Ensures the safety, functionality, and efficiency of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical systems.

In addition to other duties, this position will:

  • Prioritizing projects and tasks with staffing assignments.
  • Provides direction and support to facilities staff with tasks and interactions with other staff and clients
  • Monitor, prioritizes and responds to Maintenance Helpdesk requests
  • Implements and tracks progress of routine maintenance schedules, while making suggestions for improvements.
  • Monitor, prioritizes and responds to Maintenance Helpdesk requests
  • Monitors each property on a regular schedule, as directed by Facilities Director
  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, door hardware and general maintenance
  • Completes necessary tasks related to contracted renovations and construction projects
  • Maintains inventory of Maintance related equipment and supplies.
  • Monitors and responds to emergency facility requests
  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Maintain orderliness, safety and cleanliness of properties.
  • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State, and Federal guidelines.
  • Perform duties as assigned during hurricanes, or other emergencies.
  • Prompt completion and submission of all paperwork involved with maintenance functions
  • Special projects and other responsibilities may be determined.

Skills/Requirements: 

  • Proficiency in the use of standard power and hand tools
  • Basic math skills for measurement and computation
  • Ability to read and comprehend assembly directions
  • HUD HQS
  • Proficiency in the use of standard power and hand tools

  • Electrical and flooring experience preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend assembly directions
  • Moderate computer skills
  • Basic construction/maintenance knowledge
  • Valid Florida Drivers License and ongoing proof of insurance required

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: 

  • This position requires at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent, and (2) years directly related experience.
  • Moderate to Strong Carpentry preferred
  • Electric and Flooring preferred

Important Notes:

 

Must pass all drug and background screening, including a level 2 federal background and motor vehicle screening.

 

Hours: Full-time 40/hrs. including rotating holidays.
