This position is responsible for maintaining all Broward House owned properties through the supervision of The Director of Facilities to perform and assign work in the area of facilities, maintenance and repair, including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, basic electrical and other skilled trades work. Assigns work to, and provides general direction and leadership, to the facilities technicians.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates the work of the facilities technicians in completion of maintenance work orders; assists others with tasks.
- Performs inspections on work completed by other facilities technicians.
- Assists licensed plumbers, electricians and HVAC personnel as appropriate.
- Monitor, prioritizes and responds to Maintenance Helpdesk requests
- Monitors each property on a regular schedule, as directed by the Director of Facilities
- Monitor and perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, door hardware and general maintenance
- Completes necessary tasks related to contracted renovations and construction projects
- Maintains inventory of Maintance related equipment and supplies.
- Monitors and responds to emergency facility requests
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
- Maintain orderliness, safety and cleanliness of properties.
- Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State, and Federal guidelines.
- Perform duties as assigned during hurricanes, or other emergencies.
- Prompt completion and submission of all paperwork involved with maintenance functions
- Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.
Skills/ Requirements
- This position requires at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent, and (2) years directly related experience.
- HVAC certified preferred
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and ongoing proof of insurance required
- Proficiency in the use of standard power and hand tools
- Basic math skills for measurement and computation
- Ability to read and comprehend assembly directions
- Ability to push, move and lift objects up to 80 lbs.
- Organizing and coordinating skills.
- Ability to lead and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Important Notes
Must pass all drug and background screening, including a level 2 federal background and motor vehicle screening
Hours: Full-time 40/hrs. including rotating holidays.
