Job Description
Broward House, Inc. is a not for profit social service agency serving Broward County with multiple programs for individual infected and affected by HIV, homelessness, incarceration, substance abuse and mental health.
This position is responsible for maintaining all Broward House owned properties through supervision of Technician, implementation of maintenance schedule, responding schedule, responding to work orders and performing general HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, door hardware and general maintenance
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs, coordinates and supervises the maintenance of all Broward House facilities including buildings and groundsPrioritizing projects and tasks with staffing assignments .
- Provides direction and support to facilities staff with tasks and interactions with other staff and clients
- Monitor, prioritizes and responds to Maintenance Helpdesk requests
- Implements and tracks progress of established routine maintenance schedules, while making suggestions for improvements.
- Supervises housekeeping of Assisted Living Facility
- Monitor, prioritizes and responds to Maintenance Helpdesk requests
- Monitors each property on a regular schedule, as directed by CAO.Facilities Director
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, door hardware and general maintenance
- Completes necessary tasks related to contracted renovations and construction projects
- Maintains inventory of Maintance related equipment and supplies.
- Monitors and responds to emergency facility requests
- Supervises housekeeping of non-residential buildings
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
- Maintain orderliness, safety and cleanliness of properties.
- Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State, and Federal guidelines.
- Perform duties as assigned during hurricanes, or other emergencies.
- Prompt completion and submission of all paperwork involved with maintenance functions
- Special projects and other responsibilities may be determined.
Skills and Requirements:
- Proficiency in the use of standard power and hand tools
- Basic math skills for measurement and computation
- Ability to read and comprehend assembly directions
- Moderate to advance computer skills
- Basic construction/maintenance knowledge
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum (2) years of directly related experience
- Ability to communicate with a diverse population
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
- Valid Florida Driver's License and ongoing proof of insurance required
- HVAC certification preferred
- Electrical and flooring experience preferred
