Job Description

Broward House is a not-for-profit social service agency serving Broward County. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals impacted with chronic health challenges, including HIV, by providing them pathways to wellness. We offer multiple programs for individuals impacted by HIV, homelessness, substance abuse, and mental health issues. Our goals are simple: to support the health and stability of each individual who walks through our door with a plan unique to their goals.

We are looking for an individual with social media, digital storytelling and writing experience to work in our development department.  The candidate will have a strong comfort level working with our programs’ target population as well as strong written communication skills.  Hours will vary, including weekends and evenings.

This position is primarily responsible for:

  • Develop and manage social media content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
  • Create engaging and mission-aligned social media posts, including graphics, videos, and written content.
  • Monitor social media trends and adjust strategies to stay current and relevant.
  • Engage with followers by responding to comments, answering questions, and fostering conversations to build community.
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize content and grow the organization's online presence.
  • Design and execute email campaigns that promote programs, events, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Write compelling email content that resonates with subscribers and encourages action 
  • Segment and manage email lists for targeted campaigns and ensure list growth.
  • Monitor email performance (open rates, click-through rates) and make data-driven adjustments to improve future campaigns.
  • Write and publish blog posts that highlight the nonprofit’s mission, success stories, and initiatives.
  • Plan, script, and create video content for engagement purposes, highlighting the nonprofit’s mission, events, and programs.
  • Edit videos using tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or other video editing software.
  • Develop a content calendar that includes blog posts, email campaigns, social media posts, and video releases.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics across social media, email, blog, and video content.
  • Generate regular reports to measure content effectiveness, audience growth, and engagement.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine content strategies and improve outreach efforts.
  • Assist the development team at events and community initiatives as needed

Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in content marketing, social media management, email marketing, or digital content creation
  • Experience with social media management tools and email marketing platforms
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience in creating content for multiple channels
  • Basic photo editing knowledge
  • Video creation and editing skills using software such as Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, or Canva
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Solution focused approach to conflict and challenges
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, collaborating agencies and the public
  • Ability to demonstrate and model culturally competent behavior
  • Advanced Computer Skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
